About Counselling

A lot of decisions or changes involve elements of uncertainty or stress so at times like these it can be helpful to talk to a counsellor.

Counselling and psychotherapy can help you overcome personal difficulties and work towards positive growth and change. I can provide you with a confidential, safe and non-judgemental space where you can openly and freely explore your thoughts and feelings and examine your behaviours. It is not about me giving advice or telling you what to do.

Exploring both internal and external conflicts and looking into where these might come from can lead to insights, awareness and positive change. You may find that over time your personal resilience and resourcefulness increases. You may also find that your quality of life improves as you cope more effectively by being able to make appropriate decisions and act on them accordingly.

The number of sessions required will depend upon the issue or problem you want to address – some issues may be resolved in a relatively short time (say, 6-12 sessions), others may take longer. The length of time we work together is something we agree jointly and which we regularly review during therapy.

Therapy sessions last for 50 minutes and are usually held on a weekly basis.
